Privacy Policy
How SoftwareGlimpse processes personal data — generated from configured processing activities.
Data controller
The data controller is SoftwareGlimpse, Netherlands (postal address available on request via privacy@softwareglimpse.com) (Netherlands). Privacy contact: privacy@softwareglimpse.com.
How to contact us about privacy
Email privacy@softwareglimpse.com, use the Contact page (reason: Privacy), or /privacy-request/. We do not ask you to send unnecessary sensitive information.
What we collect and why
The processing activities below reflect the SoftwareGlimpse configuration. Inactive activities (for example newsletter or analytics before a provider is configured) are marked inactive and are not treated as live processing.
Remember cookie and tracking preferences
Data categories: consent choices; consent policy version; decision timestamp. Legal basis: consent. Source: Cookie consent UI. Recipients / processors: First-party consent storage. Retention: Until you change/withdraw preferences, or until consent policy version renewal (default up to 365 days).
Remember CRM Finder and cost calculator progress on your device
Data categories: finder answers (local); calculator draft inputs (local). Legal basis: legitimate-interest. Source: CRM Finder / CRM Cost Calculator. Recipients / processors: None listed (typically stays on your device or is not shared). Retention: Until cleared by you or overwritten on this device.
Respond to contact and privacy requests
Data categories: name; email; message; request reason; optional related URL; optional company (partnership reasons only). Legal basis: legitimate-interest. Source: Contact form / privacy request form. Recipients / processors: Contact form store (application stub). Retention: Up to 24 months after the request is closed, unless a longer period is required by law.
[Inactive] Send software buying guides, comparisons, and practical updates by email
Data categories: email. Legal basis: consent. Source: Newsletter signup. Recipients / processors: Newsletter provider (not configured) (not configured). Retention: Not active until a newsletter provider is configured and signup is enabled.
Understand aggregated site usage (page views and visitor metrics) via Vercel Web Analytics after analytics consent
Data categories: pseudonymous usage events; page path; referrer / traffic source (where available); coarse geography derived from IP (aggregated). Legal basis: consent. Source: Consent-gated Vercel Web Analytics component. Recipients / processors: Vercel Web Analytics. Retention: Aggregated Web Analytics metrics per Vercel retention practices; SoftwareGlimpse does not store a separate analytics profile.
Route commercial outbound clicks to the intended vendor/partner destination
Data categories: product / destination identifiers; click context (page location, intent); optional campaign/subId parameters. Legal basis: legitimate-interest. Source: Direct commercial outbound links (with /go/ compat redirects). Recipients / processors: Vercel Inc.; Affiliate / partner networks (per-product programmes). Retention: First-party redirect is operational; hosting access logs typically up to 90 days. Partner sites may process the visit under their own policies..
Cookies and browser storage
See the Cookie Policy for the inventory of cookies, localStorage, and sessionStorage in use. Optional analytics technologies only run after consent when required. We distinguish HTTP cookies from local/session storage.
Affiliate click data
When you use a commercial outbound link, SoftwareGlimpse may send you directly to a stored vendor or partner destination (or, for older shared links, via a first-party /go/ redirect). We may process destination identifiers and click context for routing, analytics, and operations. Partner/vendor sites may process the visit under their own policies for attribution. Affiliate analytics events in our first-party event bus respect analytics consent when a sink is registered; navigation itself is not delayed for analytics.
Legal bases (summary)
Consent — cookie preferences and any future newsletter/analytics that require consent. Legitimate interests — responding to contact/privacy requests you submit, operating necessary tool state on your device, and performing first-party commercial redirects you initiate. Other bases will be documented if additional processing is configured.

Newsletter metadata: Not active until a newsletter provider is configured and signup is enabled. Server logs: Operational hosting/access logs; typically up to 90 days (Vercel).
Your rights
Depending on applicable law (including GDPR where it applies), you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability where applicable. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent (for example via Cookie settings for optional cookies, or unsubscribe for email once a newsletter is live). You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Use Contact → Privacy to exercise rights — we do not automate legal decisions in the form itself.
Policy updates
When processors, cookies, or processing purposes change, Privacy and Cookie policies are flagged for review. Version and last-updated dates change when meaningful updates are made.
