Editorial Policy

SoftwareGlimpse publishes software buying intelligence: structured product pages, comparisons, guides, and decision tools. This policy sets editorial standards so readers can tell researched coverage from data verification and from hands-on testing — and so commercial relationships never silently buy rankings.

We only attribute named authors who are configured in the site foundation. We do not invent staff, fake credentials, employers, or years of experience. When a distinct reviewer is recorded in metadata, we may show Reviewed by; otherwise we do not invent a second reviewer.

Public pages may show Research-based review, Data verified, or Hands-on tested. These levels are resolved from structured metadata (research dates, pricing verification timestamps, hands-on flags with test dates). AI or content-pipeline processing alone never elevates a product to Hands-on tested.

We do not claim first-hand experience unless hands-on testing metadata supports it. We do not fabricate product scores, review dates, AggregateRating markup, or historical score series. Scores shown publicly must be traceable to approved criterion assessments with rationales.

Category methodologies define criteria and weights. Overall scores, when published, are weighted from those criteria. Affiliate status is not a scoring input. Provisional auto-mapped scores (fixture demos) stay low-confidence and are not presented as finished editorial judgments.

AI may draft from approved research facts and assessments. Humans approve publishable editorial judgments. AI must not invent live prices, fake testing, unsupported credentials, or schema.org Review/AggregateRating claims.
